ABOUT REGENT SQUARE EDITING
Hi there, I'm Alana Dunn, the owner of Regent Square Editing. I'm glad you're here!
I'm an academic copyeditor specializing in publications in the humanities, though I also have experience with fiction, poetry, and prose. I work to help writers eliminate errors and polish their prose without altering their voice or style. I particularly enjoy working with early-career faculty who are finishing their first or second book. You can see many of the projects I've been a part of in my portfolio.
Since 2009, I have served as the copyeditor for Bull City Press. I'm also a member of ACES: The Society for Editing and the Editorial Freelancers Association. Through the EFA, I have undertaken several training opportunities, such as the three-course beginning/intermediate/advanced copyediting series and courses in copyediting fiction and proofreading.
When I'm not editing, I'm most likely:
watering my garden (I planted 1400 pachysandra this past spring and they will LIVE!);
hiking the trails in the 644-acre park that's mere blocks from my house; or
cuddling my rescue guinea pigs, Poppy and Hattie (Poppy is the Chicago style enthusiast; Hattie is the skeptic).
Now that you know a bit about me, I'd love to learn more about you and your work. Get in touch today!
